Electrical Technician – Process Plant

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine and seeks an experienced Electrical Technician to support the Process Plant. The role involves performing electrical maintenance and refurbishment on a rotating day/night shift in a safe, compliant environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute electrical refurbishment and maintenance tasks in accordance with Ghanaian regulations and company standards.
• Perform daily pre‑start checks of equipment and tools, reporting any anomalies.
• Coordinate with contractors and construction teams for planned and refurbishment work.
• Provide data to the Maintenance Planner and close work orders in SAP.
• Identify and report equipment or crane operation issues that may require maintenance.
• Ensure all work is carried out cost‑effectively and safely.

Required profile

• Secondary education with a certified electrical trade apprenticeship (e.g., City & Guilds).
• Minimum five years post‑apprenticeship experience in an electrical trade.
• Familiarity with Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical) Regulations.
• Ability to work both day and night shifts and adhere to environmental, health, and safety legislation.
