Embedded Linux Engineer (General, Debian, BSP)

About the role

The Embedded Linux Engineer will join the R&D team to enhance Torizon OS across multiple SoC platforms such as NXP and TI. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure a full‑stack solution for Toradex’s embedded modules.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and extend support for Torizon OS on new SoC platforms.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to guarantee a seamless full‑stack approach.
• Develop, maintain, and automate build and test pipelines for Torizon OS.
• Improve DevOps practices continuously.
• Design and maintain Embedded Linux BSPs, including bootloader and kernel development.
• Develop device drivers, optimize existing ones, and add new functionality.
• Port third‑party libraries and create custom software tools.
• Focus on Debian package creation, Docker image maintenance, and hardware‑accelerated container support.
• Contribute to upstream Debian packages and improve CI/CD infrastructure.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience (minimum 10 years) in embedded Linux development.
• Strong background with OpenEmbedded/Yocto and best‑practice workflows.
• Proven expertise in Linux kernel, bootloader, and device driver development.
• Hands‑on experience with Debian packaging and Docker containerization.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD and DevOps processes.
• Proactive communication skills.
