Estate Officer (University Estate Department)

About the role

The University seeks a dynamic, self‑motivated professional to lead its Estate Department. Reporting to the Director of Works and Physical Development, the Estate Officer will ensure effective management of university estates in line with the Technical Universities Act.

Key responsibilities

• Head the Estate Department and oversee all estate‑related activities.
• Collaborate closely with the Office of Works and Physical Development to align estate operations with university policies.
• Ensure compliance with the Technical Universities Act, 2016 (Act 922) and related statutes.
• Develop and implement estate management strategies, including maintenance, allocation, and development of campus properties.
• Prepare reports, papers, and publications for external assessment.

Required profile

• Research Master’s degree in Built Environment, Land Economy, Estate Management or a related field, plus a relevant professional qualification.
• Minimum six (6) years of experience as an Estate Officer or in a comparable senior estate‑management role within a university or similar institution.
• Demonstrated computer literacy.
• Ability to provide scholarly papers and publications for external assessors.
