Farm Manager / Agronomist (Greenhouse & Open Field Production)

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Farm Manager / Agronomist to lead daily operations of a vegetable production farm that combines greenhouse and open‑field systems. The successful candidate will apply agronomic expertise to design structured processes that deliver consistent, high‑quality yields.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute vegetable crop cycles (tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, habanero) in both greenhouse and open‑field environments.
• Oversee nursery activities including seed selection, germination and transplanting.
• Develop and maintain crop calendars and fertigation programs using drip‑irrigation systems, monitoring EC, pH and nutrient balance.
• Schedule irrigation based on crop stage, weather and soil/media conditions.
• Identify pests and diseases early, implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and ensure safe agrochemical use.
• Monitor greenhouse climate (temperature, humidity, airflow) and optimise plant spacing, pruning and trellising.
• Manage land preparation, planting, harvesting and efficient use of inputs in the open field.
• Lead, train and supervise farm workers, assign daily tasks and enforce SOPs.
• Maintain detailed records of inputs, yields, pest control and irrigation; produce weekly and monthly performance reports.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in greenhouse vegetable production.
• Proven ability to build and standardise farm systems for long‑term productivity.
• Hands‑on, proactive attitude with strong problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Fertigation program design and drip‑irrigation management.
