F&B Services Supervisor

About the role

JW Marriott is hiring a full-time, non-management F&B Services Supervisor in Accra, Ghana. The role ensures that staff work as a team to deliver optimum service and meet guest needs, and covers inspection, opening and closing duties, inventory, maintenance work orders and supporting management with hiring and training.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure staff work as a team to provide optimum service and meet guest needs
• Inspect staff grooming and attire and correct deficiencies
• Complete opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and locking doors
• Inspect storage areas for organization, FIFO use and cleanliness
• Complete scheduled inventories and stock, and requisition supplies
• Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety and guest well-being
• Complete work orders for maintenance repairs
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and coaching employees, and act as first point of contact for the Open Door Policy
• Follow company and safety/security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications
• Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality and protection of company assets
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and thank them sincerely
• Develop positive working relationships and suggest improvements to efficiency, quality, safety and cost savings

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (preferred)
• At least 2 years of related work experience (preferred)
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience (preferred)
• No license or certification required

Required skills

• Able to stand, sit or walk for an entire shift
• Able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and perform fine motor tasks
• Able to move through narrow, confined or elevated spaces and climb stairs or ramps
• Ability to read small print and visually inspect tools and equipment
