Room Attendant (Local Hire)

About the role

A hotel in Accra, Ghana is hiring a local hire Room Attendant within its Housekeeping & Laundry department. The incumbent cleans guest rooms, corridors, floor public areas and pantries according to hotel standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean assigned guest rooms, including making beds, dusting furniture, replenishing supplies, cleaning bathrooms and vacuuming carpets.
• Check rooms for damage or malfunction and report repairs to the supervisor.
• Clean corridors and public areas around assigned rooms and keep equipment and pantries tidy.
• Provide turn-down service and handle late check-outs and late services.
• Answer guest questions and requests politely, write notes on assignment sheets and report special guests, unusual situations and incidents to the supervisor at the end of shift.
• Report lost and found items to the supervisor and order taker immediately.
• Help control guest and cleaning supplies to save costs.

Required profile

• High school or vocational school certificate.
• 2 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in a five-star hotel.
• Physical ability to clean 15 rooms per day and to push and pull the room attendant cart.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision and to follow instructions.
