Finance & Compliance Officer

About the role

The Finance & Compliance Officer will support the EU‑Ghana Youth Empowerment "Spark Change Makers" project, ensuring that all financial activities comply with donor requirements and organisational policies. The role involves maintaining accurate records, supporting budgeting and reporting, and guiding partners on financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and support project budgeting.
• Monitor spending, verify supporting documents, and ensure funds are used for intended purposes.
• Guide project partners and sub‑grantees on EU and SOS compliance standards.
• Identify financial risks, prepare for audits, and address audit findings promptly.
• Collaborate with the Project Accountant and Project Coordinator to provide financial updates and improve internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in finance, audit or compliance, preferably in donor‑funded NGOs.
• Good knowledge of EU donor rules and Ghanaian accounting/tax regulations.
• Experience monitoring partners, managing sub‑grants, or conducting financial reviews.
