About the role
Standard Bank Group, an Africa-focused financial services group, is hiring a Foreign Exchange Trader in Accra. The trader trades spot FX on a single assigned product within a defined mandate, aiming to maximise trading book profit while staying within defined risk levels, codes of conduct and statutory regulations.
Required profile
- First degree in any quantitative-related field of study.
- 1-2 years of experience in spot foreign exchange or global markets trading, including market making.
- 3-4 years of experience trading global market products, preferably within Standard Bank, with knowledge of relevant currencies, trading limits, economic, regulatory and market drivers.
- Experience on the Standard Bank FX graduate programme is strongly preferred.
Required skills
- Knowledge and application of the relevant global market trading systems.
- Understanding of market rules and regulations.
- Technical competencies: business acumen, international market knowledge, market analysis, product knowledge of trading and transacting, risk/reward thinking, trade execution and trade opportunity creation.
