Founding Sales Engineer – Software

About the role

Terramine AI is seeking a Founding Sales Engineer – Software to act as the bridge between our technical product team and mining customers. In this remote, contract position you will drive discovery conversations, understand site workflows, and translate needs into tailored demos and solution proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead discovery calls and deep‑dive discussions to uncover operational pain points.
• Configure and deliver product demonstrations using real or representative mining data.
• Answer technical and operational questions from operators, supervisors and senior leadership.
• Collaborate with founders and engineers to refine product fit and influence the roadmap based on feedback.
• Guide pilot implementations, supporting onboarding and integration with existing systems.
• Create sales collateral, technical documentation and repeatable playbooks for future go‑to‑market efforts.

Required profile

• Strong technical background in software, data or AI platforms with the ability to explain architecture to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience in sales engineering, solutions consulting or technical pre‑sales for complex B2B or industrial software.
• Familiarity with mining, heavy industry or operational technology, or a proven ability to learn industrial workflows quickly.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, comfortable speaking to all organisational levels.
• Self‑directed, comfortable with ambiguity and building processes from scratch in an early‑stage environment.
