General Manager, Network Operations

About the role

Lead MTN Ghana's national network operations, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will drive strategic initiatives, integrate emerging technologies such as AI, and manage a diverse technical team across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, integrate and lead Network Operations processes, technologies, products and customer segments.
• Develop and execute an integrated Network Operations plan aligned with business objectives, including AI‑driven efficiencies.
• Oversee implementation of the Network Operations strategy and provide technical guidance to operations teams.
• Lead change initiatives across Network Operations and the wider Technology organisation.
• Ensure smooth network capacity introduction and optimise utilisation to support growth.
• Develop, review and enforce Network Operations policies, procedures and Change Control Board requirements.
• Provide input into financial planning, budget management and CAPEX/OPEX control.
• Negotiate with suppliers and vendors, manage contracts and ensure delivery meets business and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Postgraduate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in GSM/WCDMA/Fixed Mobile network operations, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role.
• Proven experience managing diverse technical teams and interfacing with multiple operators and vendors.
• Strong background in financial budgeting, expenditure control and contract negotiations.

Required skills

• Telecommunications principles across GSM, WCDMA and Fixed environments (switching, transmission, radio, IP, MPLS).
• Project, operations, maintenance and integration management in GSM/WCDMA/IP networks.
• Application of Artificial Intelligence in network operations.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
