Growth & Retailer Engagement Associate
SafeReceipts · Accra
Job description
About the role
SafeReceipts is a Ghanaian startup building a digital receipt system for retailers and their customers. It is looking for a resourceful, hands-on Growth & Retailer Engagement Associate to help drive its soft launch and product validation. The role works directly with the founding team to introduce the product to retailers, create content, support marketing experiments and turn interest into active product usage. It suits a final-year student, recent graduate or early-career professional.
The engagement is a 90-day contract, based in Accra on a hybrid basis, about 20 hours per week, at GH£1,000 per month.
Key responsibilities
- Retailer outreach: identify prospective retailers, start conversations, introduce SafeReceipts and follow up.
- Customer acquisition: organise product demos, onboard early adopters and get retailers issuing their first digital receipts.
- Social media: create and publish content such as product demonstrations, educational posts and launch updates.
- Growth experiments: support paid advertising campaigns, test messaging and audiences and find cost-effective ways to reach retailers.
- Customer discovery: gather feedback, document objections and identify what helps or hinders adoption.
- Community engagement: respond to enquiries and guide interested prospects to try the product.
- Tracking and reporting: maintain a prospect tracker and give weekly updates on outreach, demos, activations, content performance and lessons learned.
Required profile
- Proactive, able to own tasks without constant supervision.
- Confident communicator comfortable talking to unfamiliar people and following up.
- Interested in digital marketing, customer engagement, sales or early-stage startups.
- Organised enough to track prospects and meet deadlines.
- Resourceful problem-solver who can work with a tight budget and learn from rejection.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience managing social media or creating content for a business or personal brand.
- Experience with Canva, Meta Business Suite or basic video editing tools.
- Familiarity with paid social advertising and campaign metrics.
- Experience in sales, customer support, community management or business development.
- An existing network of retailers, small businesses or entrepreneurs in Ghana.
- Experience with spreadsheets, CRM tools or simple analytics dashboards.
What we offer
- Hands-on startup experience working with the founder.
- Ownership of growth activities and input into the go-to-market approach.
- Practical learning across customer acquisition, digital marketing and product validation.
- Hybrid working with agreed deliverables and flexibility.
- Potential to continue working together after the 90-day contract.
