Head of Compliance

About the role

The Head of Compliance will lead the development and maintenance of a robust compliance framework for Coastal Commerce Microfinance Ltd. Reporting to senior management, this role ensures that the institution meets all regulatory obligations while fostering an ethical culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an effective compliance management framework.
• Monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Oversee KYC and AML/CFT compliance activities.
• Identify, assess, and report compliance risks.
• Investigate breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct compliance reviews and provide guidance to all departments.
• Prepare regular compliance reports for senior management.
• Promote a strong compliance and ethical culture throughout the institution.

Required profile

• Degree in Law, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in banking, compliance, risk or financial services.
• High ethical standards, strong leadership and decision‑making ability.
• Excellent communication, analytical and investigative skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver measurable results.
