About the role
Suma Rural Bank is seeking a qualified Head of Internal Audit Unit to support senior management and the board in ensuring continuous growth and robust governance across the bank’s operations.
Key responsibilities
- Examine and evaluate the effectiveness and adequacy of internal control systems.
- Review financial and management information systems, including electronic banking services and electronic information systems.
- Assess financial reports and accounting records for accuracy and reliability.
- Conduct reviews of asset safeguarding methods and techniques.
- Evaluate the bank’s capital against estimated risk.
- Assist external auditors and examiners in their routine work.
- Perform any other audit duties assigned by the board.
Required profile
- MBA in Finance or Banking and Finance, or a first degree in Accounting/Banking with at least 2‑5 years of banking experience.
- Professional certifications such as ICAG, ACCA, CIB or equivalent.
- Completed National Service and experience in rural or community banking is preferred.
Required skills
- T24 Banking Application.
- Microsoft Office suite.
