Health and Wellness Coordinator

About the role

Loozeele Initiative and Loozeele Excellence Academy, a vocational training provider in Bolgatanga, Upper East, Ghana, is seeking a compassionate Health and Wellness Coordinator. The role safeguards the well-being of students, particularly the children of women in the vocational programmes, by leading health promotion, managing medical care and working with staff, families and community health partners.

Key responsibilities

• Design and run health promotion initiatives and workshops on nutrition, personal hygiene and mental health awareness.
• Provide immediate first aid and basic medical assistance, and coordinate with nearby medical facilities for professional care.
• Carry out regular health screenings such as vision and hearing tests, and keep accurate health records.
• Create and run emergency response plans and evacuation protocols, and train staff and students in emergency procedures and first aid.
• Partner with teachers, parents and external health professionals to resolve health concerns, and take part in parent-teacher meetings.
• Establish and enforce health and safety policies in line with local regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health or a closely related field.
• Experience developing and delivering health education programmes for youth or schools.
• Proven ability to work with diverse communities with cultural sensitivity.
• Strong organisational skills for managing health records and coordinating appointments.
• Excellent communication skills with parents, staff and partners.
