Part-Time Service Engineer - Clinical Laboratory Equipment

About the role

Skyler Healthcare supplies clinical laboratory solutions to hospitals, diagnostic laboratories and distributors, covering biochemistry, hematology, immunoassay and point-of-care testing. It is hiring a part-time Service Engineer for clinical laboratory equipment, an on-site position based in Ghana. The engineer installs, maintains and repairs equipment at customer sites so that performance stays optimal and downtime is kept to a minimum.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair clinical laboratory equipment at customer sites, following manufacturer guidelines.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and diagnose and fix technical issues.
• Provide technical support to laboratory staff and document service activities.
• Prepare reports and coordinate with the technical and sales teams to meet customer needs.
• Support equipment training sessions and adhere to safety and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of service processes.
• Be available during agreed working hours and travel occasionally within the region.

Required profile

• Experience in field service and technical support in medical or laboratory device environments.
• Ability to work on-site, manage time effectively, follow safety procedures and travel to customer locations in the Greater Accra Region and, when required, other regions.
• Preferred: a diploma or degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.

Required skills

• Troubleshooting and maintenance and repair of clinical laboratory equipment.
• Communication with customers, colleagues and manufacturers.
• Beneficial: familiarity with biochemistry, hematology, immunoassay and POCT analyzers; reading technical manuals; basic IT and networking knowledge for instrument connectivity.
