Health Centre Nurse

About the role

The Health Centre Nurse ensures the well-being of staff and trainees by providing basic medical care, administering first aid and managing student health records. The nurse assesses and treats minor injuries or illnesses. The position reports to the Operations Lead and is offered full-time, part-time or national service, for a one-year term that is renewable.

Key responsibilities

• Administer first aid for cuts, bruises and other minor ailments
• Assist with basic medical procedures, administer medications and monitor patient vital signs
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and complete required forms
• Organise and file medical records
• Provide health education to patients on treatments, medications and safe work practices
• Support patients in following their care plans
• Follow protocols, policies and safety regulations and keep the healthcare environment clean and organised

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in nursing, enrolled in a nursing programme focused on patient care and clinical skills
• Compassionate, empathetic and able to work independently and in a team
• Commitment to learning and ethical standards
• Ability to work in a start-up environment and a participatory community

Nice to have

• Fluency in English and strong oral and written communication
• Attention to detail and basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Prior healthcare experience or volunteering
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software
