Pharmacy Technician

About the role

Drug Point Pharmacy, a community-focused pharmacy open every day from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician to work on-site in Nzema Aiyinasi. The technician supports pharmacists in dispensing and helps keep the pharmacy running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in processing and dispensing prescriptions, preparing medications, and labeling and packaging drugs
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Manage inventory, restock shelves, monitor expiry dates and ensure proper storage of medicines and supplies
• Provide courteous customer service and answer medication questions within scope of practice
• Support basic health services such as blood pressure and blood glucose checks
• Keep the pharmacy clean, organized and compliant with safety and regulatory standards

Required profile

• Hands-on experience or training in pharmacy operations and pharmacy technician practices
• Relevant certification or diploma in Pharmacy Technology or a related field; registration with regulatory bodies where required
• Previous experience in a community or retail pharmacy is an advantage
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Required skills

• Knowledge of prescriptions and basic pharmacology, with accurate handling of prescription orders
• Inventory control: tracking stock levels, managing expiry dates and organizing products
• Customer service and teamwork
• Attention to detail, organization and ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines
