Pharmacy Technician

About the role

MedFocus International, a Ghanaian health management company providing emergency healthcare services and medical consultancy, is hiring a full-time, on-site Pharmacy Technician in Accra. The technician supports pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescriptions accurately, in line with regulatory and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with medication packaging and ensure accurate labeling, dosage and documentation
• Manage inventory levels, check stock for expiration and keep storage areas organized
• Answer patient questions about medication use and availability
• Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to support emergency and routine care
• Maintain clean workspaces, follow standard operating procedures and support quality improvement in pharmacy operations

Required profile

• Certificate or diploma in Pharmacy Technology or a related field; registration with relevant regulatory bodies is an advantage
• Hands-on experience or training as a pharmacy technician in a clinical or retail setting
• Prior experience in hospital, clinic or emergency care settings is beneficial
• Ability to work on-site in Accra and adapt to fast-paced environments

Required skills

• Prescription processing and accurate handling of medications
• Inventory control: stock monitoring, ordering and storage management
• Customer service and clear communication with patients
• Basic computer skills for pharmacy systems, record keeping and data entry
• Attention to detail and adherence to safety and confidentiality standards
