Project Manager - RSV Vaccination Readiness

About the role

World Vision is hiring a Project Manager for its RSV Vaccination Readiness project in Ghana, based in Accra with regular travel to programme districts across 14 regions. The role leads the project's six workstreams so that Ghana's policy, regulatory, supply chain, workforce, data and community systems are ready for maternal RSV vaccine introduction before the vaccine arrives. It is a local fixed-term position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the project workplan and ensure activities are sequenced and resourced in line with the national RSV vaccine introduction timeline, while contributing to WVG's maternal and child health strategy and Ghana's RMNCAHN Strategic Plan.
• Act as the main relationship manager with the Ministry of Health, the Ghana Health Service, the EPI programme and the Family Health Division, and represent WVG in the national maternal immunization technical working group and policy fora.
• Manage relationships with WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, PATH, Gavi, Dodowa Health Research Centre, IHI, MIRNAA and the Pfizer Foundation, and support MOH and GHS to engage regional and global forums such as WHO AFRO and the World Health Assembly.
• Oversee the national readiness assessment using the Gavi IRMMA framework, coordinate updates to national maternal immunization guidelines and the vaccination introduction roadmap, and support a costing structure for RSV introduction.
• Oversee cold chain and supply chain readiness, and ensure HMIS and DHIMS2 integration so maternal immunization data can be tracked through government systems.
• Oversee formative research across at least 10 districts (KAP surveys, focus groups, GIS mapping) and turn findings into piloted interventions across seven barrier domains.
• Oversee community readiness, including engagement of village chiefs, queen mothers, faith leaders, Daddies Clubs and Mother-to-Mother Support Groups, and ANC defaulter tracking linked to the 28-week eligibility threshold.
• Lead the M&E plan, quarterly learning reviews, the mid-project brief (month 9) and final evidence report (month 18), and the final dissemination plan.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Global Health, Development Studies or a closely related field; a medical or nursing background with postgraduate training is also considered.
• At least seven years of progressive experience in public health programme management, including at least three years at project management or senior technical level.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-workstream health programmes in Ghana or West Africa, and with the Ghana Health Service, Ministry of Health and District Health Management Teams.
• Proven track record in immunization, maternal and newborn health or EPI strengthening, and experience managing donor-funded grants.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Ghana's health system, including the EPI programme, CHPS system, DHIMS2, the ANC platform and the national maternal and newborn health policy landscape.
• Understanding of RSV disease burden and maternal RSV vaccination, WHO SAGE guidance on third-trimester vaccination, and vaccine introduction, cold chain and supply chain requirements.
• Familiarity with the Gavi IRMMA framework, the WHO behavioural and social drivers of vaccination framework or equivalent readiness frameworks.
• Proficiency in data use for programme management and strong financial management and donor budget reporting skills.
