Integration Specialist - Digital Payments

About the role

The Integration Specialist leads and coordinates payment-system integration across client, issuer, processor and digital banking environments. The role translates business and product requirements into implementation designs, manages technical dependencies and supports testing through to production readiness. It is a 6-month on-site contract based in Accra, Ghana, with travel across West and Central Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the client technology landscape, interfaces, dependencies and implementation constraints.
• Define end-to-end integration approaches across issuer, processor, switch, digital banking and third-party platforms.
• Produce interface specifications, integration mappings, sequence flows and implementation documentation.
• Coordinate technical workshops and align client teams, vendors and internal delivery stakeholders on responsibilities and milestones.
• Support environment readiness, connectivity, configuration, certification, test execution and defect resolution.
• Track integration risks, assumptions, decisions and dependencies, escalating blockers promptly.
• Support production readiness, cutover planning, post-launch stabilisation and knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Previous experience in Banking, Digital Payment & Card solutions or the FinTech industry.
• Experience in a fast-paced matrix organisation and strong stakeholder management and documentation skills in a client-facing delivery environment.
• Excellent English (French advantageous); willingness to travel across West and Central Africa may be relevant for later phases.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger / OpenAPI, SQL, log analysis tools, Jira or Azure DevOps, Confluence or SharePoint.
• Understanding of issuer, processor, payment switch, gateway or digital banking architectures and ability to interpret APIs, interface specifications, transaction flows and technical logs.
• Experience supporting SIT, UAT, certification and go-live readiness.
• Preferred: card payments, ISO 8583, payment gateways, tokenisation or digital wallets, and familiarity with security, data protection and operational resilience in financial services.
