Junior Software Engineer

About the role

Adaptive Computer Solutions (ACS) is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join its growing team of technology professionals. The role focuses on either front‑end development with JavaScript frameworks such as React, or back‑end development using .NET or Spring Boot, delivering high‑quality, scalable applications for corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain front‑end applications using JavaScript frameworks, or back‑end services, APIs and web applications using .NET (C#) or Spring Boot (Java).
• Apply object‑oriented programming principles and clean‑code practices to produce maintainable solutions.
• Write unit tests and ensure strong test coverage, incorporating cross‑cutting concerns such as security, logging and error handling.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and other stakeholders to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Monitor and optimise performance, scalability and reliability of services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of post‑qualification experience as a developer in a corporate environment.
• Hands‑on experience with either .NET (C#) or Spring Boot (Java), or with JavaScript frameworks.
• Strong understanding of OOP, clean‑code principles and software architecture.
• Ability to produce well‑structured, testable and maintainable code.
• Familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and version control (Git).
• Effective teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience working on complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of performance optimisation and security best practices.
