Junior Software Engineer (National Service)

About the role

Orgmento, a software engineering and data sciences consultancy in Ghana, is seeking a Junior Software Engineer for a National Service position. The role offers full training and the chance to work on SaaS projects within an Agile team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software applications and systems.
• Code, test, and debug software programs.
• Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of existing systems.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software engineering.

Required profile

• Very fast learner with a positive, can‑do attitude.
• Relentless when debugging code and learning from failures.
• Bachelor’s degree in a computing‑related field (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering).
• Demonstrated growth in coding skills through personal projects, hackathons, or GitHub collaborations.
• Committed to a career in software engineering.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, C/C++/C#, or Java.
• Familiarity with development tools like Git/GitHub, JIRA, Eclipse, or Visual Studio/Code.
• Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
