Local Purchasing Supervisor

About the role

Sigma Cylinders is looking for a Local Purchasing Supervisor to manage procurement activities in Accra, Ghana. You will ensure that all purchasing processes are compliant, efficient, and aligned with the company’s operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Convert approved purchase requests into purchase orders in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, following the Delegation of Authority.
• Prioritise urgent operational requirements for production, maintenance and administration to maintain continuity.
• Maintain a tracker of open PRs/POs, delivery commitments and risks, escalating delays early.
• Source local suppliers from approved lists, obtain and validate quotations, and support negotiations within delegated authority.
• Confirm PO acknowledgements, delivery dates and key conditions with suppliers to minimise slippage.
• Expedite critical items, coordinate deliveries with requestors and the warehouse, and document any variations for approval.
• Maintain supplier records, contracts and pricing conditions in Business Central for audit readiness.
• Coordinate goods receipt notes with the warehouse and invoice matching with finance, resolving mismatches promptly.
• Ensure timely closure of purchasing transactions to support clean month‑end reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on purchasing or procurement experience in Ghana, preferably in an industrial or multi‑site environment.
