Lubrication Technician – Process Plant

About the role

The Lubrication Technician – Process Plant will perform routine and corrective lubrication maintenance on all process‑plant equipment at AngloGold Ashanti’s Obuasi mining operation. The role ensures compliance with Total Fluid Management standards and supports reliability initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Execute routine and non‑routine lubrication tasks using manual and automatic dispensing equipment.
• Drain, clean, fill, and top‑off reservoirs; change filters, breathers, and operate filtration equipment.
• Maintain and label dispensing equipment, reservoirs, inventory containers, and delivery items.
• Coordinate lube product inventory, place orders, and manage stock locations.
• Perform field‑level oil analysis (crackle, viscosity, demulsibility, blotter test) and handle sample logistics.
• Update scheduling systems, generate work orders, and record maintenance activities.
• Monitor equipment performance on the asset health system and propose cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Report findings to the Reliability Engineer and assist with improvement projects.

Required profile

• Experienced, self‑motivated professional with at least five years of lubrication or plant‑maintenance experience.
• Ability to work under Total Quality Management principles and adhere to safety and environmental standards.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate record‑keeping and reporting.

Required skills

• Lubrication techniques using manual and automatic dispensers.
• Oil analysis methods: crackle, viscosity, demulsibility, blotter test.
• Operation and maintenance of filtration equipment.
• Inventory management and ordering of lubrication products.
• Use of scheduling and asset health monitoring systems.
• Labeling and tagging of reservoirs and equipment.
