Lubrication Technician – Process Plant

About the role

The Lubrication Technician – Process Plant will support the Obuasi Gold Mine’s modernised underground operation by ensuring all process‑plant equipment is properly lubricated and fluid‑managed. Working closely with the Reliability Engineer, you will carry out routine and corrective lubrication tasks to maintain equipment reliability and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and non‑routine lubrication on process‑plant equipment following total quality management principles.
• Coordinate inventory, order lubricants, and manage stock locations.
• Drain, clean, fill and top‑off reservoirs; change filters, breathers and operate filtration equipment.
• Conduct mechanical modifications to facilitate sampling, filtration and proactive improvements.
• Maintain manual and automatic dispensing equipment, label and tag reservoirs and containers.
• Schedule, collect and submit oil samples for analysis (crackle, viscosity, demulsibility, blotter tests) and evaluate results.
• Update scheduling systems, create work orders and report discrepancies for corrective or predictive maintenance.
• Monitor equipment performance on the asset health system and propose cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Report directly to the Reliability Engineer and execute improvement projects.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum five years’ experience in the mining industry, including at least two‑to‑three years in a process plant.
• Familiarity with Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical) Regulations.
• Valid Inspecting/Operating Certificate of Competency issued by Mincom.
