Management Accountant – Process Plant

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, fully mechanised operation. We are looking for an experienced, self‑motivated Management Accountant to support the Process Plant, ensuring cost data and performance metrics are captured accurately for strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain Management Accounting processes for the mine redevelopment, including operational readiness.
• Lead recruitment and localisation of the Management Accounting team.
• Map internal stakeholder relationships and define communication routines.
• Provide planning data for quarterly updates of the 18‑month rolling plan.
• Prepare Management Accounting data in line with quality‑assurance standards.
• Develop the annual cost‑centre budget and support departmental heads in budget preparation.
• Consolidate departmental budgets, participate in review meetings, and produce consolidated business‑plan reports for the HFM pack.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts such as fuel, contract accruals, and labour cost accruals.
• Review financial transactions to guarantee reliable cost data for management reports.
• Capture operating and capital expenditures accurately in the General Ledger each reporting period.
• Demonstrate safety leadership and promote a strong safety culture within the Finance team.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant, preferably in a mining or heavy‑industry environment.
• Self‑motivated with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to lead and develop a team, supporting localisation objectives.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting processes.
