Microfinance Credit Officer – Rural Banking

About the role

The Kwahu Praso Rural Bank Limited is seeking qualified Microfinance Credit Officers to join its team in Kwahu Praso, Eastern Region. The role involves supporting the bank’s micro‑finance operations by forming and managing borrower groups, disbursing loans and ensuring timely repayment.

Key responsibilities

• Form and effectively manage micro‑finance groups in rural communities.
• Handle credit management, loan disbursement and recovery in line with bank policies.
• Organise, moderate and supervise regular group meetings.
• Prepare and submit routine field and financial reports.
• Screen prospective group members and assess their loan needs according to established criteria.

Required profile

• At least an HND or equivalent in Accounting, Marketing, Social Work or Agriculture.
• Minimum national service experience with a development, community‑oriented programme or a financial institution.
• Strong interpersonal and people‑management abilities.
• Effective public‑relation and community‑entry skills.
• Willingness to work in rural and deprived areas.
• Computer literacy and motorbike riding capability.
