About the role

The Porter role at Adutwumwaa Hostel is a contract, on‑site position based in Kumasi. You will be the first point of contact for residents and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome residents and visitors, manage entry and exit at the main gate.
• Verify that only authorized individuals access the premises and maintain visitor logs.
• Assist residents with luggage, provide information, and guide new arrivals.
• Keep common areas tidy and report any maintenance or safety issues to management.
• Support basic security checks and help enforce hostel rules in a respectful manner.
• Record incidents and maintain accurate visitor logs.

Required profile

• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Experience in gatekeeping or similar access‑control roles.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Basic literacy for record‑keeping and reporting.
• Physical ability to handle luggage and perform light cleaning tasks.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
