About the role
The Porter role at Adutwumwaa Hostel is a contract, on‑site position based in Kumasi. You will be the first point of contact for residents and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome residents and visitors, manage entry and exit at the main gate.
- Verify that only authorized individuals access the premises and maintain visitor logs.
- Assist residents with luggage, provide information, and guide new arrivals.
- Keep common areas tidy and report any maintenance or safety issues to management.
- Support basic security checks and help enforce hostel rules in a respectful manner.
- Record incidents and maintain accurate visitor logs.
Required profile
- Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
- Experience in gatekeeping or similar access‑control roles.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Basic literacy for record‑keeping and reporting.
- Physical ability to handle luggage and perform light cleaning tasks.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
