Procurement Officer (Supply Chain)

About the role

A full-time Procurement Officer position in Accra and the Tema region, within the shipping and logistics sector. The role covers procurement and sourcing, supplier and vendor management, inventory and logistics coordination, and tender preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing: source suppliers and obtain quotations for client requests, evaluate suppliers and negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
• Prepare purchase orders and monitor procurement from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely delivery of goods to clients.
• Support preparation and submission of tender and bid documents, including technical and financial information, pricing schedules, product specifications and compliance documentation.
• Maintain supplier relationships, evaluate supplier performance on quality, reliability and pricing, and coordinate with manufacturers and distributors on shipments and product availability.
• Monitor stock levels, coordinate replenishment, track deliveries and shipment schedules, and coordinate distribution logistics.
• Ensure procurement complies with company policies and regulatory standards, maintain records, supplier databases and contract files, and prepare procurement reports for management.
• Work with the team to meet client and tender deadlines and introduce the company to prospective clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, supplier management or supply chain operations.
• Experience preparing tender and bid documents is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of procurement processes, supplier evaluation, inventory management and logistics coordination.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and cost-management skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
