Program Director – Harnessing Agriculture Productivity & Prosperity for Youth

About the role

TechnoServe is seeking a Program Director to lead the Harnessing Agriculture Productivity and Prosperity for Youth (HAPPY) project in Ghana. The role oversees a multi‑year initiative (Dec 2023 – May 2028) that aims to create dignified jobs and boost productivity across poultry, rice, soy, and tomato value chains, with a focus on youth‑ and women‑led enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance, leadership, and technical oversight for the HAPPY project.
• Coordinate and align the vision of consortium members, donors, Ghanaian government agencies, and private‑sector partners.
• Manage a complex network of implementing partners, technical organizations, and service providers.
• Foster collaboration, learning, and adaptive management to inform decision‑making and drive impact.
• Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with donor and TechnoServe requirements.
• Oversee country program administration, including fleet management, safety and security plans, office operations, and travel logistics.
• Serve as TechnoServe’s principal spokesperson to Ghana staff, communicating updates, policies, and general information.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale development or agricultural projects in Africa.
• Strong ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including governments, donors, and private‑sector actors.
• Demonstrated expertise in project management, budgeting, and compliance.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a commitment to gender‑inclusive development.
