Project/Grant Accountant (Ghanaian Nationals Only)

About the role

The Project/Grant Accountant will support the financial management of assigned projects and grants, ensuring compliance with CRS accounting standards, GAAP, donor requirements and local regulations. The role focuses on accurate processing of project‑specific transactions, budget monitoring and timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain accounting procedures for project/grant sub‑recipients and partners.
• Enter and verify financial transactions in the ERP system, ensuring proper documentation and authorisations.
• Review accounts for irregularities, prepare correcting entries and advise on remedial actions.
• Assess sub‑recipient financial processes and provide capacity‑building support.
• Monitor disbursement and receipt schedules, alerting staff to upcoming payments and liquidations.
• Prepare periodic and ad‑hoc financial reports, conduct variance analysis and assist with budget maintenance.
• Provide guidance on accounting policies, deliver training and support treasury functions while maintaining segregation of duties.
