Rooms Preventative Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Rooms Preventative Maintenance Technician ensures guest rooms, meeting rooms and public areas are kept in optimal condition through scheduled maintenance, cleaning and minor repairs. This full‑time position supports the overall guest experience at the Accra Marriott Hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms and public spaces, including mattress inspection, bed frame assembly, vacuuming, spot cleaning, dusting and touch‑up painting.
• Replace light fixtures, inspect and repair grout and caulking, and ensure all hardware and appliances are present and functional.
• Carry out minor repairs such as tightening toilet seats, changing bulbs and patching wall holes.
• Clean all guest‑room surfaces, including tubs, wall tiles, hard floors, windows and mirrors.
• Report serious maintenance issues, safety hazards or unusual findings to the supervisor immediately.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, and maintain a professional appearance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Less than one year of related experience; no supervisory experience required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, bending, twisting and standing for extended periods.
• Commitment to safety procedures, confidentiality and high‑quality service standards.
