Rubber Liner – Process Plant

About the role

The Rubber Liner – Process Plant will be responsible for installing, refurbishing and maintaining rubber‑lined pipes, spools and hoppers within the processing plant of the Obuasi Gold Mine. The work must be carried out safely, in compliance with Ghanaian regulations and AngloGold Ashanti’s environmental and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute rubber‑lining refurbishment and maintenance tasks on process‑plant equipment according to detailed work orders.
• Perform daily pre‑start checks of tools and equipment, reporting any anomalies.
• Coordinate with contractors and construction teams for mechanical refurbishment activities.
• Provide data to the Maintenance Planner and close work orders in SAP.
• Operate cranes and other plant equipment safely, giving correct instructions to riggers and operators.
• Adhere to the site’s Environmental Management Plan and all relevant Ghanaian and AGAG safety regulations.

Required profile

• Secondary education completed.
• Certificate of Competence as a Rubber Liner.
• Successful completion of a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship (e.g., City & Guilds).
• Minimum five (5) years post‑apprenticeship experience in a mechanical trade or as a Rubber Liner.
• Familiarity with Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical) Regulations.
