Sales Associate - Fashion Retail

About the role

Talent Grid Ghana, the workforce outsourcing division of People and Partners Group Ltd, is recruiting a sales associate for a prominent fashion retailer and brand franchise operator in West Africa. The role suits a customer-focused, commercially driven and well-presented person who can engage customers confidently, understand their needs and recommend the right products, creating memorable shopping experiences that encourage repeat purchases and build loyalty.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed daily, weekly and monthly sales targets through upselling, cross-selling and suggestive selling, and promote new collections and offers
• Welcome customers, give personalised product recommendations and styling advice, and handle enquiries and complaints professionally
• Build knowledge of products, brands, materials, sizing and care, and represent the brand image
• Maintain store cleanliness, display merchandise correctly, replenish stock and keep fitting rooms tidy
• Assist with stock receiving, tagging, stocktaking and inventory reconciliation, and report shortages, damages and suspected theft
• Process transactions accurately on approved POS systems, verify prices and discounts, and issue receipts; handle exchanges, returns and refunds
• Support store opening and closing, follow safety and policy procedures, and attend store meetings and training
• Work with colleagues during peak periods, accept feedback and take part in coaching and product knowledge training

Required profile

• HND or bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; sales, customer service, fashion merchandising or retail management training is an advantage
• At least 1-2 years of experience in retail sales, customer service or a similar customer-facing role
• Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and provide excellent customer service
• Experience in fashion, footwear, accessories, beauty, lifestyle or luxury retail is an added advantage
• Entry-level candidates with strong communication skills, a positive attitude and sales potential may also be considered

Required skills

• Point-of-sale (POS) system experience is an advantage
