Sales Manager - Machine Control

About the role

Leica Geosystems is looking for a Sales Manager for its Machine Control and Construction portfolio, based at its Accra head office. You will drive revenue growth, profitability and market share across the region, develop distributor partnerships, find new business opportunities and strengthen customer relationships. You will lead sales from initial engagement to contract closure and support distributors and customers with demonstrations, training and technical assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Find, sign and develop new distributors, and train and guide existing ones to grow their sales
• Identify direct selling opportunities and engage customers to sell Machine Control products and cross-sell others
• Support Dealer Sales Representatives with product and application training, job site demonstrations, installation scheduling, field troubleshooting and installations
• Provide market intelligence to product development teams on competitors and activities
• Develop and implement sales plans and strategies to meet sales targets
• Manage sales leads through to closure and monitor budgets, implementing plans to counteract deviations
• Negotiate sales contracts and product supply milestones
• Present and demonstrate Machine Control systems to customers and dealers
• Supervise implementation of new products and features
• Represent the company at industry events and tradeshows and work with Marketing Communications
• Prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction, Civil or Surveying Engineering or a related discipline preferred but not required
• 6 to 10 years of experience selling related product lines
• Extensive knowledge of the construction industry
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, able to work independently under pressure and to deadlines
• Fluent English; command of other regional languages is an added advantage
• Willingness to travel frequently within the region (40-60%) and occasionally internationally
