Security Co-ordinator

About the role

The Security Co-ordinator will lead the day‑to‑day administration of the hospital’s security unit, ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. This senior role involves planning, organizing, directing and controlling security personnel and related activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise, direct and control security staff to maintain effective security coverage.
• Train and certify security guards and watchmen, ensuring competent personnel are on post.
• Conduct regular inspections of all security locations and enforce standing orders.
• Develop and deliver training programmes for security officers.
• Carry out investigations, periodic security audits and report findings to the Director of Administration.
• Prepare routine reports, annual plans and budgets for the security unit.
• Formulate internal rules, implement performance appraisals and promote best security practices.
• Investigate theft, pilfering, assaults and other incidents, providing recommendations.
• Educate hospital staff on security matters and perform any additional duties assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• First degree in Psychology, Management or related field with safety and security training, or former security officer not below Chief Inspector rank.
• Maximum age of 45 years.
• Knowledge of client relationship management, MOH security policies, KATH administrative procedures and health‑safety‑security standards.
• Strong leadership, honesty, motivation, ability to work under pressure and disciplined work ethic.
