Senior Accounting & Tax Officer – Insurance Experience

About the role

The Senior Accounting & Tax Officer will lead the company’s accounting operations and ensure full tax compliance, with a focus on the insurance sector. This position combines financial reporting, consolidation, budgeting and strategic tax planning to support business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with group, statutory, regulatory and IFRS 17 requirements.
• Consolidate financial data for group‑level reporting and produce management accounts, board reports, NIC prudential reports and tax computations.
• Support the budgeting, forecasting and capital expenditure processes, generating cost statements and analysing variances.
• Oversee tax compliance, preparing and filing corporate income tax, VAT, payroll tax and other returns while mitigating tax risks.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimise the company’s tax position.
• Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting and marketing teams to provide financial guidance for initiatives.
• Maintain fixed‑assets registers and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in accounting, financial reporting and tax compliance, preferably within insurance.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 17 and local tax regulations.
• Proven ability to manage consolidation, budgeting and cost analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
