Senior Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

HYRO Exchange is looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to shape the security foundation of its global digital‑asset platform. You will work on highly scalable trading systems, blockchain integrations and customer‑facing applications while ensuring robust security across the entire stack.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement security architecture for backend services, APIs and micro‑services.
• Develop and harden trading platform features, wallet and custody services.
• Integrate blockchain components and secure market‑data pipelines.
• Build secure REST and GraphQL APIs and React‑based trading interfaces.
• Conduct vulnerability scanning, penetration testing and remediation tracking.
• Monitor security events using SIEM platforms and lead incident response.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve reliability and performance.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in fintech, payments, trading or crypto.
• Strong background in cybersecurity, risk assessment and security governance.
• Experience with cloud and on‑premise network security, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH or OSCP are a plus.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills and willingness to work on‑site in Accra.
