Senior Lecturer – Computing & Information Systems

About the role

The Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) invites applications for a Senior Lecturer position within its Faculty of Computing and Information Systems. The role is based at the Tesano campus in Accra and involves contributing to teaching, research and community service in one of the department’s specialisations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the chosen department (e.g., Mobile and Pervasive Computing, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related General Studies).
• Supervise student projects, theses and dissertations.
• Conduct scholarly research and publish in recognised journals.
• Participate in departmental and faculty development activities, including curriculum design and accreditation.
• Engage in community outreach and professional service activities.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience as a Lecturer at a recognised university.
• At least six (6) peer‑reviewed journal publications.
• Evidence of prior appointment at the rank of Senior Lecturer or eligibility for promotion through GCTU’s promotion process.
• Names and contact details of three referees.
