Senior Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Officer

About the role

The Senior Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer will provide technical leadership for the STRIDES activity in Ghana, supporting the design, implementation, and reporting of performance monitoring plans. This role ensures data-driven decision‑making and contributes to strengthening infectious disease detection systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update the STRIDES performance monitoring plan and related data collection tools.
• Guide project staff on monitoring, evaluation, and reporting processes.
• Oversee data collection, aggregation, analysis, and dissemination of findings to donors and stakeholders.
• Lead program evaluations, track indicators, and produce technical briefs and reports.
• Provide capacity‑building support to staff and partners on MEL methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with FHI 360’s standards, SOPs, and quality assurance procedures.
• Identify implementation gaps and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning within health or development projects.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
• Ability to produce high‑quality technical documents and reports.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with project and HQ teams.
• Experience managing data collection activities in low‑resource settings.
