Senior Officer – Cargo Operations

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Officer to lead and coordinate domestic and regional cargo and courier operations at our Accra base. The role ensures seamless interaction between AWA Cargo, logistics partners and forwarders while maintaining compliance with aviation and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate domestic and regional cargo/courier activities and supervise AWA Cargo and mail operations.
• Facilitate information exchange between AWA Cargo, logistics teams and appointed forwarders.
• Audit and supervise third‑party service providers, ensuring compliance and service quality.
• Review export documentation, classify goods using tariff codes and verify cargo contents.
• Ensure cargo operations meet applicable aviation regulations and security requirements.
• Reconcile daily cargo and courier sales and support IOSA audit coordination.
• Perform additional tasks as required to support operational efficiency.

Required profile

• First degree from a recognized university.
• Minimum three years of experience in cargo or courier operations.
• Completion of IATA cargo/courier operations training.
• Certificate in Dangerous Goods handling is an advantage.
