Specialist – Super Pollutants (London, Delhi or Accra)

About the role

The Clean Air Fund is seeking a Specialist – Super Pollutants to support its mission of reducing air pollution through philanthropic grants. The role can be based in London, Delhi or Accra and focuses on scientific expertise and communication around black carbon and tropospheric ozone.

Key responsibilities

• Provide scientific expertise for the Super Pollutants portfolio, including black carbon and tropospheric ozone initiatives.
• Design, manage and evaluate philanthropic projects and partnerships that require technical input.
• Conduct research and analysis linking air pollution, climate and health impacts.
• Develop and review communications to ensure scientific accuracy and accessibility for diverse audiences.

Required profile

• Research experience in climate and health science, specifically on black carbon, tropospheric ozone or other super pollutants.
• Ability to think strategically and work outcome‑focused in multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex concepts into lay language.

Required skills

• Masters or PhD in a scientific or engineering discipline, or equivalent research experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams and SharePoint.
• Understanding of basic cyber security and data protection hygiene.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract until December 2027.
• Salary of £37,000 (London), INR 2,500,000 (Delhi) or GHS 235,000 (Accra).
