Transport Workshop Supervisor

About the role

Reporting to the Transport Manager, the Transport Workshop Supervisor oversees daily workshop operations and fleet maintenance to ensure vehicle availability and safety. The role combines hands‑on technical work with team leadership in a fast‑paced transport environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan workshop workflow, schedule and assign repair work orders based on technicians' skill sets.
• Supervise and provide technical guidance to mechanics, electricians and technicians on complex engine and vehicle issues.
• Inspect and quality‑check all completed maintenance and repair jobs before vehicles return to service.
• Manage inventory of spare parts, consumables and specialist tools, authorising local vendor purchases as needed.
• Enforce workplace health and safety rules, maintain a clean workshop, and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of job cards, work orders and service reports.

Required profile

• Entry‑level qualification with at least one month of relevant experience.
• Ability to supervise a small team and provide first‑line technical support.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
