Treasury Specialist – Cash Management & Risk

About the role

The Treasury Specialist is responsible for overseeing cash flow, liquidity and financial risk management across Telecel Ghana. The role ensures that sufficient funds are available for operational and strategic initiatives while optimizing investment returns and minimizing exposure to market risks.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare daily cash positions and forecast short‑ and medium‑term liquidity needs.
• Develop and maintain short, medium and long‑term cash‑flow forecasts.
• Optimize cash utilisation across accounts and subsidiaries in line with regulatory standards.
• Manage relationships with banks, negotiate facilities and ensure covenant compliance.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and maintain audit‑ready records.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to currency, interest rates and liquidity.
• Oversee short‑term investments, debt instruments and support financing activities.
• Compute loan interest, prepare accruals and process repayments accurately.
• Provide treasury reports, cash‑flow forecasts, liquidity analysis and risk assessments to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in treasury, corporate finance or banking.
• Strong knowledge of cash management, banking operations and financial instruments.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Professional certifications such as CTP, CFA, ACCA are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Treasury Management Systems (TMS).
• Experience using ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
