Tyre Technician – Heavy‑Duty Vehicle Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Tyre Technician to join our vehicle maintenance team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient servicing of tyres on trucks, trailers and other heavy‑duty vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect tyres regularly to detect wear, damage, punctures and other safety issues.
• Remove, install and replace tyres on trucks, trailers and heavy‑duty vehicles.
• Perform tyre repairs such as puncture repair, patching and tube replacement.
• Check and maintain tyre pressure according to manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct tyre rotation, wheel balancing and tyre condition assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, replacements and mileage.
• Identify tyre‑related problems and recommend actions to extend tyre life and improve vehicle safety.
• Operate tyre service equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Handle, store and maintain tyres and related equipment properly.
• Follow Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) procedures during all activities.
• Provide technical support to the broader maintenance team on tyre issues.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience as a Tyre Technician, Tyre Fitter or similar role.
• Experience with heavy‑duty trucks, trailers or commercial vehicles is preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good understanding of vehicle safety standards and maintenance practices.

Required skills

• Use of tyre‑changing equipment.
• Operation of air compressors.
• Proficiency with tyre service tools (e.g., balancers, pressure gauges).
• Tyre inspection and assessment techniques.
• Tyre repair and fitting procedures.
