Venture Builder – Health Tech (Africa)

About the role

500 Global is seeking a Venture Builder to lead the creation of new health‑tech ventures across Africa, guiding projects from problem validation through launch and first funding. This hands‑on operator role involves building companies that address real gaps in healthcare access.

Key responsibilities

• Source and onboard potential founders or early‑stage health‑tech companies into the Venture Building program.
• Support founders in customer discovery, market validation, and evidence‑based decision making.
• Guide venture‑thesis development, risk identification, and validation of business models, pricing, and go‑to‑market strategies.
• Assist in building early‑stage teams, identifying capability gaps, and connecting founders to talent networks.
• Connect founders with technical experts, mentors, pilot partners, and ecosystem resources.
• Prepare founders for investment by strengthening milestones, unit economics, financial assumptions, and fundraising narratives.
• Report progress, KPIs, and impact outcomes to internal stakeholders and corporate partners.

Required profile

• 5+ years building or scaling health‑tech startups in Africa, preferably as a founder, co‑founder, or early operator.
• Track record of taking at least one health product from idea to market in an African context.
• Working knowledge of African health systems, including delivery, payment, and regulation.
• Familiarity with digital health models such as telemedicine, remote patient monitoring, diagnostics, or health‑data platforms.
• Strong commercial instincts with experience in unit economics, pricing, and partnership building.
• Extensive network across African health and startup ecosystems.
• Comfort working in ambiguity, across multiple stakeholders, and with high autonomy.
