Volunteer Coordinator

About the role

The Volunteer Coordinator is a full-time, on-site position based in Kumasi, responsible for recruiting, onboarding and scheduling volunteers to support company and community initiatives. The role also covers training, guidance and feedback for volunteers.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard and schedule volunteers
• Design and deliver training sessions and ensure volunteers understand their responsibilities
• Maintain volunteer records
• Organize outreach events and build relationships with community partners
• Communicate expectations and updates clearly to volunteers and internal teams
• Monitor program effectiveness, resolve volunteer concerns and collaborate with leadership to improve engagement and retention

Required profile

• Strong volunteer management skills, including experience with volunteer management and volunteer training
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse groups and community stakeholders
• Background in community outreach and partnership building with local organizations
• Diploma or degree in Social Work, Community Development, Nonprofit Management, Communications or a related field is an advantage
• Ability to work on-site in Kumasi and occasionally during evenings or weekends for special events

Required skills

• Organizational and time-management skills for managing multiple programs and schedules
• Proficiency with basic office software and tools for tracking volunteer hours, performance and program outcomes
• Previous experience coordinating volunteers, community programs or events is highly beneficial
