Director of Human Resources

About the role

The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) is inviting applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians for the management position of Director of Human Resources. The successful applicant will report to the Director-General and promote and implement human resource values by planning and managing HR policies, procedures and practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an HR strategy aligned with corporate strategy.
• Formulate, implement and monitor adherence to HR policies.
• Prepare, control and monitor the budget of the Human Resource Division and its services.
• Design and implement HR systems covering recruitment and selection, orientation, training and development, compensation and benefits, retention and succession planning, and compliance with labour laws, employee safety, welfare, wellness and health.
• Collate, compile and submit monthly, quarterly and annual divisional and corporate reports to the Director-General on time.
• Support management with HR advice, counsel and decisions through analysis of information and implementation.
• Cultivate an employee-oriented high-performance culture based on empowerment, productivity, standards, quality, continuous improvement and goal attainment.
• Regularly review HR and administrative systems, policies and procedures to ensure they conform to practice.

Required profile

• A first degree plus a post-graduate degree in Business Administration or Human Resource Management.
• 10 years of relevant experience, at least five in a senior management position.
• Membership of a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
