Winder Driver Trainer

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti Ghana is finalising a major redevelopment of its Obuasi underground mine. The company seeks an experienced Winder Driver Trainer to lead the training, monitoring and quality control of cage operators and winder drivers, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver the Winder Driver training programme according to the approved training plan.
• Monitor statutory inspections of winders, material transport, slinging and all related activities to ensure compliance with LI2182, Ghanaian regulations and the site Environmental Management Plan.
• Develop and maintain reporting structures for operational readiness and maintenance scheduling of winders, shafts and ropes.
• Design risk mitigation plans for all winder‑related training activities.
• Track training progress, record task completion and ensure drivers understand maintenance requirements.
• Support departmental budgeting, cost evaluation and implementation of cost‑reduction initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of underground mining experience as a Winder Driver.
• Proven experience training winder drivers from entry level to certified competency.
• Project management experience in a mining environment.
• Valid MINCOM Certification as a Winder Driver.
