Winder Driver Trainer

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is seeking an experienced Winder Driver Trainer to join the Obuasi Gold Mine team. The role focuses on coordinating training, monitoring compliance, and ensuring safe, efficient operation of underground winders.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and monitor Winder Driver training according to the approved training plan.
• Oversee statutory inspections of winders, material transport, slinging, and related activities in line with LI2182 and Ghanaian regulations.
• Develop risk and mitigation plans for all winder‑related training work.
• Provide reporting inputs to the Maintenance Manager for operational readiness and budget management.
• Ensure Winder Drivers understand and follow maintenance requirements for winders, shafts, and ropes.
• Coordinate departmental budgeting and identify cost‑reduction initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of underground mining experience as a Winder Driver.
• Proven experience training Winder Drivers to certification.
• Project management experience in a mining environment.
• Legal requirement: MINCOM certification as a Winder Driver.

Required skills

• Knowledge of man‑and‑rock winders.
• Experience with AC and DC winder systems.
• Implementation of proactive maintenance strategies.
• Training and certification delivery for winder operations.
• MINCOM certification.
